Job Summary


As a member of the AGS Oshawa Human Resources team, you will perform various Human Resources administrative functions specializing in some and providing support in others.


Responsibilities


  • Coordinates and participates in career fairs.
  • Assists with the day-to-day operations, which includes daily calls, absences, verifying Dr's notes, vacations, leave of absences and discipline reports, monitoring & recording unionized employee attendance tracking, preparing reports and information for discussion.
  • Perform any other duties that may be superficially or generally assigned.
  • Assist with employee relations issues by investigating questions and/or concerns.
  • Assist the HR Manager, Human Resources Generalist and Human Resources & Health and Safety Coordinator in the administration of medical claims (S&A, LTD, WSIB), early and safety return to work program, as well as manage and administer employee leaves of absence.
  • Assists with the preparation and set-up of various professional development events, which includes the tracking of professional development in the learning management system and other special projects as required.
  • Supports the publication of the Employee Newsletter in the plant.
  • Assist with General HR Administration with daily requirements. including but not limited to generating reports and forms, generating and posting notices in the plant, assist with distribution of mail, administer invoices for the HR department.
  • Supports positive employee and labour relations by providing advice and guidance to employees.
  • Asist with the maintenance of employee records and HR filing systems, monitor retention of documentation and disposition, records and tracks disciplinary actions for hourly employees.
  • Assists with the generation of various analytics reports and HR metrics.
  • Supports the new employee Human Resources orientation training.


Qualifications


  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of various computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).
  • Approachable, positive, enthusiastic and solutions oriented.
  • Business Administration or Human Resources student or equivalent
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong willingness to learn.
  • Ability to plan, organize work and time efficiently and re-prioritize and respond to changing demands/focus.
