Responsibilities of an Executive Sous Chef with Banff Lodging Co.:

  • Lead and manage the culinary team in creating innovative and exceptional dishes that showcase our commitment to culinary excellence.
  • Stay updated with culinary trends and techniques and be eager to constantly elevate our culinary offerings and dining experience.
  • Train, mentor, and inspire the kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Manage inventory and control costs to achieve financial targets set out by management.
  • Develop and design menus that reflect our culinary vision for a fresh and vibrant dining experience.

Skills and experience:

  • Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 30lbs, must be able to stoop and bend.
  • Experience in a multi-outlet environment considered an asset.
  • Food Safety Course and W.H.M.I.S.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Food and Beverage management experience.
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to: POS, inventory software, excel and word.
  • Minimum 2 years at a Sous Chef.
  • Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Red Seal or Formal Culinary Education is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
  • Experience in a new restaurant opening considered an asset.
