Job Description

We are currently searching for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our manufacturing team in London, Ontario. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with the Leadership team on strategy, performance, and continuous improvement
  • Develop written safety standards and annually update/review policies and procedures to ensure they are current with legislative requirements
  • Ensure successful planning, implementation and effective project management for the safety team in order to assist with meeting performance goals, and personal development needs
  • Manage all WSIB claims and relevant legal representation
  • Provide guidance and support to achieve environmental safety KPI's
  • Drive Continuous Improvement through the use of benchmarking, metrics, and Process Excellence tools to enable business results
  • Develop the team through effective coaching
  • Monitor new and revised legislation and remain current with the latest requirements
  • Develop/maintain the integrity of the health and safety system by applying best practices
  • Ensure company policies and practices are in compliance with OHSA, active member of JHSC
  • Responsible for all environmental Health and Safety aspects of the company
  • Conduct root cause incident investigations, workplace inspections and risk assessments and implement strategies to prevent re-occurrence of incidents
  • Manage HSE budget, lead the development/application of preventive programs, H&S programs, ISO 45001, and H&S action plans in collaboration with managers and supervisors


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Ontario EHS regulations and an ability to interpret regulatory issues and provide a recommended course of action
  • Proven ability to build partnerships and lead by example building trust to achieve desired results
  • University Degree, Certified Safety Professional (CRSP)
  • Values-based leadership and track record for developing and sustaining healthy work environments and effective teams while leading in a performance-driven culture
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making
  • 10 years experience leading an EHS program in a manufacturing environment
  • Well-developed computer skills, SAP knowledge considered an asset
