Engineering And Maintenance Manager

Position Summary

The Engineering and Facilities Lead will be responsible for all operational engineering services for commercial products at this manufacturing facility. This responsibility includes production engineering, facilities and utilities engineering, related process improvement and automation, compliance with regulatory standards, facility/utility, and production maintenance. This position directs a team of engineers, supervisors and technical support engineers and is responsible for their performance and development.

Regular working hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch.

The Role

• Target improvement to increase Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Reduce Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) to improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE)
• Drive implementation of engineering and facility capital projects within budgets and timelines and implement new technologies
• Embed a robust improvement philosophy within the site engineering team, influencing a “First Time Fix” culture, and acting as a source of CI and TPM best practice for Engineering processes
• Build and sustain employee engagement by creating a culture of efficient execution and an environment in which individuals and teams can excel and continuously improve
• Ensure that appropriate training of all engineering and facilities personnel on equipment, process and facility safety procedures is maintained and up-to-date
• Develop and regularly update the strategic capital improvement plan including site master plan
• Develop, implement, and own a comprehensive engineering, maintenance and facility strategy for the site, and the supporting policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

• Ability to sit and use hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard
• Active Professional membership in ISPE, IMechE, IChemE , or other organizations
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision
• 5+ years’ experience leading others on project teams, interfacing and influencing at executive levels
• 10+ years’ experience in engineering/engineering management, preferably in a pharmaceutical/FDA-regulated work environment
• Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend, or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably from an accredited university. Advanced (MS or MBA) degree or chartered engineer status is a plus.
• Use of manual dexterity is required
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical and product problems in a timely manner
• Experience with freeze drying and low dose (<1ml) liquid filling technology is a plus
