Job Description
Are you an experienced and qualified professional in the field of emergency services living in the Fort McMurray area? Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time Emergency Services Responder - Fire Fighter, to work at a well-established integrated oil and natural gas company, in Fort McMurray, AB. In this role, you will be responsible for responding to emergencies related to fire, medical, rescue, and hazmat under the guidance of a Level 2 ERO, Senior Emergency Response Officer, or Emergency Coordinator. If you possess a valid NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter qualification along with 1-3 years of hands-on experience, we want to hear from you!


  • Job type: Full-time | Contract
  • Shifts: 6 days on, 6 days off; 12 hours per day
  • Location: Fort McMurray, AB

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Adhere to and interpret emergency response, medical, and operational guidelines.
  • Operate under physical and mental exertion, especially during emergencies and challenging climates.
  • Collect and analyze information, execute tactics during emergencies, and evaluate and communicate their effectiveness.
  • Assist the Training Group and Treatment Room Group as needed.
  • Be available for on-call duties during night hours.
  • Execute tasks aligned with the Emergency Action Plan and provide medical assessment and treatment.
  • Conduct Level 1 inspections of property assets.


Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Alberta Class 3 Operators License with Air Brake endorsement is a bonus
  • Must be local to FortMcmurray or willing to relocate
  • Advanced Cardiac Live Support (ACLS) for paramedics
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
  • Primary Care Paramedic, Advanced Care Paramedic, or Registered Nurse with 1-3 years of experience and registered to practice within relevant jurisdictions
  • Certification in one of the following: Dangerous Goods (NFPA 472 Operations Level), Fire Dept. Vehicles Driver/Operator (NFPA 1002), or Wild Land Fire Fighting (NFPA 1051)
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter qualifications are required
  • CPR and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification is a plus
  • Must pass the annual Emergency Services Fitness Test
