Electronic Engineer (CO-OP position)

The Opportunity:
Our team is growing and we are currently seeking a highly motivated electronic engineer to join our development team. As an electronic engineer, you will be working in collaboration with mechanical and software engineers to design, prototype and manufacture different subsystems of the robot.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development of battery and charging systems for our robotics platform
- Communicate and collaborate with other software and hardware engineers
- Creating wire harnesses and wire routing diagrams for the robot
- Use agile project management tools like Jira and Confluence
- Assist and participate in the testing activities in lab and on-site
- Embedded systems software design
- Ensure the regulatory requirements in design and work with the certification agencies.
- Conduct thorough testing, debugging, & troubleshooting of electronic systems to ensure functionality & quality.
- Design, part sourcing, prototyping and test PCBs
- Implement digital and analog electronic designs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate documentation of product developments, experiments, purchases, etc.
Requirements:
- Strong problems solving skills in testing and troubleshooting the electrical systems.
- Knowledge of battery management systems, power distribution design, motor controllers, sensors, actuators & embedded systems.
- Experience with robotics projects is an asset.
- Proficiency in using electronic design tools such as Altium, Cadence, or similar software.
- Experienced in PCB Design, effective BOM selection, prototyping and testing.
- Excellent communication skills
- Professional in embedded systems programming, C++ and Python
- Hands on experience with electrical components, measurement devices, wire harnessing & soldering.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
