Responsibilities

• Participate in technical reviews.
• Apply independent diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Participated in design, implementation, configuration management and test of hardware and firmware systems in accordance with the company’s procedure and project specific requirements.
• Preparing or reviewing typical design documentation (design requirements, schematics, board layouts, technical specifications, and data sheets).
• Preparing or review engineering deliverables for existing and new electrical system design modifications/upgrades/replacements.
• Preparing cost estimates or cooperating appropriately with others responsible for reporting the estimate

Required Skills

• Previous Electrical/Electronic Engineering Lead/Project lead experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
• Candidate must be capable of acquiring a NATO Reliability and Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work on Canadian Controlled Goods and US ITAR controlled articles.

Desired Skills

• Experience with DSP applications.
• Analog and digital electronic design.
• Embedded microcontroller design (ARM-based microcontrollers or DSP-based systems).
• Willing to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Must be self-motivated, adaptable, and attentive to details.
• 5+ years of Electrical/Electronic Engineering commercial or military type electronics desirable.
• Willing to travel within Canada, US and Overseas.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude, with capability to mentor others.
• Master's Degree an asset, especially Electrical, Electronic or Underwater Acoustics Engineering.
• Experience of Maritime Domain (desirable).
• Network communication - Fiber Optic Ethernet ATM SONET.
• A team-oriented individual that works collaboratively to achieve team goals.
• Competent Assembly and C language programming for embedded systems.
• FPGA design using VHDL.
• Experience with embedded development tools such as Sourcery CodeBench and Atollic TrueSTUDIO.
• OrCAD Capture, OrCAD PSpice Designer and PCB Designer.
• Familiar with formal project design process and documentation.
• Experience with peripherals such as SPI, I2C, UART, etc.
• Experience with electronic design to military and safety standards.
• Experience of Underwater Warfare Domain (desirable).
