Summary of Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for planning and execution of the technical aspects of new product development projects. You will work with the project manager and the project team members to deliver technical solutions and products that demonstrate technical compliance and provide high quality, reliability, manufacturability and usability while meeting the project schedule, budget and the risk tolerance profile.
You must demonstrate leadership and be capable of project planning, organizing, and developing optimum solutions to problems, which in turn, may result in advancing state-of-the-art technology. Key elements of work at this level include technical innovation, providing technical leadership, and project technical mentoring.
- Prepare, either personally or through the supervision of project team members, a complete set of project documentation, including milestone documents, build and test procedures, manufacturing specifications, user manuals, datasheets, application notes or other required user documents.
- Communicate with customers in order to understand their needs. Translate these needs into product features and specifications.
- Ensure rapid and effective product development
- Participate in all aspects of project implementation including conceptualization, architectural analysis, detailed design, modelling, simulation, analysis, prototyping, component procurement, build, test and documentation.
- Work with key customers to ensure product acceptance.
- Champion initial product success in verification, validation, and deployment.
Qualifications:
- Prepare and present diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations to support team decisions.
- Participate in all aspects of the project life cycle including concept definition and trade-offs, requirements development, design, testing, release, and maintenance.
- Experience with opamps, ADCs and DACs.
- Ability to interact with junior members of the team and mentor team.
- Minimum five years demonstrated ability to develop PCBs and interconnects.
- Selection of electronic parts. Supporting parts procurement and supply chain monitoring.
- Schematic capture and PCB layout supervising of circuit design.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s or Ph.D. Engineering degree in discipline electrical or electronic engineering.
- Familiarity with FPGA blocks including multi-gigabit transceivers, memory, and micro-controller interfaces, PLLs, hard and soft cores.
- Design of high-speed PCBs and board to board interconnects using the latest FPGAs, DDR memories, clock generators and distributors, high speed cables and connectors.
- Excellent knowledge of switching power supply design.
- Ability to interact with mechanical, FPGA, embedded software, and test engineers.
Asset qualifications:
- Experience with Mentor Graphics PCB design tools.
- Experience in high-speed PCB simulations.
