About The Role
The Operator (Packaged and Bulk ANE, ANFO) undertakes the processes/system associated with Packaged and Bulk ANE, ANFO production to the extent of their skill and competence. The Operator operates the manufacturing facilities safely, efficiently, and effectively to address production and distribution requirements. Provides a quality service in the manufacture of Packaged and Bulk ANE, ANFO to our customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.
What you will be doing
Maintaining safe working practices to ensure no injury to self or others
  • Wearing all PPE as required for specific tasks
  • Promptly reporting all unsafe working conditions and accidents to Supervisor
  • Ensuring all emergency equipment and First Aid kits are complete.
  • Carrying out housekeeping tasks as instructed by supervisor
  • Ensuring minimum damage to the environment through waste minimization and control
  • Ensure equipment and plant is in good order by regular inspection
  • Active participation in Safety Meetings, Toolbox Talks and in Mining Services safety program
Equipment operation and maintenance
  • Maintaining vehicles in clean and presentable condition
  • Manufacturing plant and delivery vehicles/tankers are maintained according to schedule
  • Perform QC testing on incoming raw materials and product being dispatched to customers
  • Accurate provision of delivery dockets to customers
  • Product delivered to customers and Orica Depots to meet demand schedule
Material Requirements and Storage
  • Ensure correct accreditation signage is displayed
  • Ensure all raw materials are correctly labelled
Quality Control
  • Ensure equipment is maintained to provide high levels of service and replace faulty parts as required or instructed
Administration
  • Assist with recording details of receipts into and dispatches from the plant
  • Assist with stocktaking all materials and products as required
What you will bring
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a dangerous goods/bulk explosives/heavy industry/process plant environment required
  • Valid Class 1 Driver's license required
  • Ideally must be within 25 km of Blackie AB
