Why We Need You:
As our new Director of Tax and Treasury, you will be critical in leading and evolving the treasury, cash, and risk management functions across Kognitiv globally. We have and continue to grow fast. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for building and managing a small but impactful Treasury and global tax function/team and our insurance portfolio as the key liaison to our insurance brokers. You will interact extensively with business unit leaders to develop a vision for and execute operational and strategic initiatives to improve cash flow and debt management. It will be your purview to oversee the compilation of regular reporting packages for lenders and establish and maintain efficient and effective banking and cash management processes.
What You Will Be Doing:
Treasury Management:

• Working with our Corporate Planning and Controllership teams in monitoring and tracking cash flow requirements and managing drawdown and repayment of credit facilities as required, along with associated financial reporting
• Compiling regular financial reporting packages for lenders with assistance from the financial reporting team
• Analyzing foreign currency cashflow requirements and recommending hedging strategies to manage accordingly
• Managing and safeguarding the Company's cash resources across multiple subsidiaries, minimizing idle cash
• Establishing operational treasury policies to ensure activities comply with governance policies, internal controls and accounting standards
• Develop processes and reconciliations on fraud detection and prevention and streamlined controls around banking access and management
• Analyzing banking operations and monitoring fees
• Establishing and improving short and long-term cash reporting and cash flow forecasting across multiple entities
• Provide recommendations on optimizing debt structures and funding initiatives

Risk Management - Treasury

• Staying abreast of changes to government/agency policies/regulations affecting treasury activities across Kognitiv global operations
• Developing and updating internal control measures surrounding cash management
• Analyzing the scope of foreign currency transactions and managing foreign exchange risk by guaranteeing proper hedging strategies are in place
• Providing regular reports to senior management regarding current and forecasted cash positions and commitments
• Managing interest rate risk by evaluating the company's debt management and interest hedging strategy regularly and proposing changes where needed
• Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Company's Credit Agreements

Tax

• Responsible for completion and filings of all required tax returns globally, working closely with third party providers where required
• Monitor current and pending changes to tax regulations and make appropriate updates to tax policies and strategies.
• Manage and facilitate tax audits
• Planning, reporting and compliance for Kognitiv entities globally
• Assist the Controllership team with VAT / HST filings and tax provisions
• Oversee tax policies and work to minimize consolidated tax obligations

As The Successful Candidate, You Have:

• Experience managing corporate treasury operations and forecasting in a global context across multiple subsidiaries and currency
• A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a Finance or Accounting capacity
• Advanced communication skills mean you can relate to people at all levels and provide guidance and instruction to anyone within the organization with an uncanny ability to adapt your messaging and style to suit your audience, allowing you to convey complex issues clearly, and tactfully
• At least 4 years of progressive experience within a Treasury and Tax function
• Demonstrable ability to positively influence others
• A University degree in Business or Finance with an MBA, CFA, or CPA designation
• Exposure to sophisticated financial reporting, systems implementation and treasury and banking platforms would be advantageous
