Job Description
Established in 1976 the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nation governed post-secondary institution. Recognized under provincial legislation, the Institute has been conferred authority to grant certificates and diplomas. SIIT welcomes over 2400 students into our urban and community programs annually as well as serving over 6000 clients through our nine Career Centres across the province. Position Details


The Director, SITAG Operations is under the ISET Program Operations Unit of the Employment Development & Career Services department of SIIT and participates in leading the Indigenous Skills & Employment Training Program. This position will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT's vision, mission, and mandate.


The Director, SITAG Operations is required to manage operations within areas of responsibility, provide guidance and support to team members, ensure that work carried out aligns with the goals of SIIT and SITAG (Saskatchewan Indian Training Assessment Group) and participate in the EDCS department leadership team. The position provides strategic leadership, and is accountable to lead, train and maximize the team's effectiveness and performance to ensure the highest quality of services and timeliness of deliverables.


The Director's main focus is to ensure successful delivery of the ISET Program agreement in given areas of responsibility. The incumbent will have a broad range of knowledge and expertise in best practices dealing with operational activities, financial management, monitoring, systems, capacity building, data and reporting.


Required Qualifications And Experience


  • Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations would be an asset.
  • Incumbent must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation as travel is required.
  • Experience working with Microsoft office suite of programs and accounting software is required.
  • A degree in business, finance or a related post-secondary degree is preferred.
  • Five (5) years of related experience in the field or related area, coupled with experience in financial management, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
