Job Summary

The electrical, mechanical, power, security, temperature, and humidity data collected at our sites globally by our Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platform are essential to Equinix Operations and to our customers. As Director, DCIM Product Management, you will heavily engage with Site Operations, Controls Engineering, Customer Controls Engineering teams, and Product Engineering to generate and realize platform design requirements. You will manage expansions to new sites, reliability, data quality, and customer support.

The ideal candidate is a Product Management professional with a track record of building and managing innovative controls products and a technical background in both platform design and engineering controls systems. They have the ability to delegate to other teams while keeping the overall platform objectives on target.

Responsibilities

• Organize, attract, and mentor a team of talented and diverse Technical Product Managers who develop detailed requirements for platform components that must interoperate seamlessly
• Manage the product P&L by tracking platform costs and estimating the value of DCIM data for internal Operations tools and customer-facing products
• Develop site onboarding and data quality tools and processes. Support customer data quality inquiries and escalations
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, using data, dates and facts in an engaging and concise style
• Partner closely with leadership of downstream products to identify and anticipate infrastructure needs, prioritizing for maximum impact via success and adoption criteria
• Engage regularly with internal stakeholders including Site Operations, Controls Engineering, Product Engineering, and Customer Engineering to ensure cross-functional alignment and successful product launches
• Provide technical insights that improve platform offerings, ensure platform performance and sustainability
• Provide direction, goal setting, and ensuring delivery from the team, in partnership with stakeholders and development leaders
• Define, monitor, measure, analyze and report on key platform performance and customer metrics
• Gather feedback from internal and external customers and scan DCIM market to develop a comprehensive product strategy for data center monitoring technology, including sensor devices, edge data collection, and alert processing
• Develop a long-term vision for Equinix’s DCIM platform
• Manage a product roadmap for the platform in collaboration with engineering leaders

Qualifications

• Experience in modern DevOps practices such as CI/CD, performance monitoring & incident management
• Thorough understanding of metrics and benchmarks, problem solving, and risk and complexity analysis
• Experience with wireless sensor networks, control systems and automation
• A combination of 10+ years of related industry experience and experience in Product Management or Product Development of software delivery platforms
• 10 years of experience in data center industry, critical facilities management, or building controls
• Experience collaborating with geographically dispersed teams across a global enterprise
• Experience working with agile methodology on fast paced projects
• Strong communication skills and presentation skills
• 7+ years in a people leadership role – leading/managing/developing people, products, and platforms
• Knowledge of application architecture, design, implementation, and performance
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
