The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the expansion of our operations from laboratory to pilot and ultimately commercial-scale production. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong background in cement plant operations, construction industry knowledge, and expertise in scaling up processes. The successful candidate will report to the CEO and CTO of EnviCore.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, and cost, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to translate laboratory-scale processes into pilot and commercial-scale operations, optimizing production efficiency and product quality.
  • Oversee the commissioning and start-up of new facilities, coordinating with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful and timely execution.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements related to cement production, SCMs, and sustainable construction practices.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of operations with business objectives.
  • Lead the overall operations, including planning, organizing, and managing the manufacturing process to achieve production targets, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to scale up the production of supplementary cementitious materials, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and operators, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a culture of operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of cement manufacturing processes, including kiln operations, grinding, and blending.
  • Proven track record of successful operations and commissioning of cement plants or similar industrial facilities, with a focus on process scale-up and optimization.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across various stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and implementing quality control and assurance protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Experience in successfully scaling up processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale, combined with knowledge of the business side of the construction industry, is highly desirable.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. Professional Engineering (PE) certification is required.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards operational excellence.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong business acumen with knowledge of the construction industry, market dynamics, and commercial aspects related to SCMs.
