About the role you’ll play

Reporting to the Executive Director, you play a key role in achieving Landscape Ontario’s communications, advocacy, events and member relations objectives through a broad range of activities, tools and channels. Functioning both collaboratively and independently, you help to build Landscape Ontario's brand and organizational profile by providing high-impact communications materials for recurring membership, sector focused, workforce development, and advocacy initiatives as well as for large-scale projects and events.

What you’ll be doing

You will provide leadership for Landscape Ontario’s sales efforts by overseeing our offerings in order to provide advertisers excellent exposure at competitive rates. You will develop effective sales collateral, and support general sales activities, as well as those directed to individual accounts. You strive toward “win-win” sales relationships, where we earn advertising and sponsorship revenue because we provide outstanding value. You will promote a sales policy with integrity, so advertisers know circulation claims are accurate and rates are consistent and fair. You regularly scan, and develop new revenue opportunities, and help suppliers take advantage of opportunities the publications and association can offer to enhance their business.

You work with your staff team to produce excellent editorial products through upholding policies that promote useful, authoritative editorial content. You’ll ensure social media content is consistent with Landscape Ontario’s brand voice, and continuously strive to engage both the public and the trade with interesting and educational content.

You will promote the benefits of landscape horticulture and hiring association members to the public through keeping Landscape Ontario's Green for Life marketing plan growing and on track through all available media. You will work with staff and members to build visibility of Landscape Ontario's brand, and maintain its brand integrity, and oversee content and structure improvements for our web properties.

You will support creativity and efficiency in art and production through critiquing design and layouts of our publications and marketing for maximum impact. You will emphasize our continuing commitment to cost-efficiency, oversee adherence to production schedules, promote sensitivity toward our audience’s visual communications needs, and deal with vendors honestly, while continually seeking out competitive opportunities.

You will manage circulation policies and procedures for Landscape Ontario’s magazines through monitoring magazine circulation policy for best sales advantage, allocating circulation resources for best value within budgetary guidelines, and maintaining the quality of our subscriber lists.
