We’re looking for a Director, Product Management to lead the development and delivery of our product vision, strategy and product roadmap(s) for portfolio of products used by Manulife customers Daily. You will be responsible for leading and contributing to hard-working teams who are passionate about developing great experiences that provide value to customers. You are adept at knowing how to navigate and positively influence an organization cross functionally and you have a demonstrated ability to balance long-term product strategy with near term imperatives. This role may have one or more Product individuals reporting into them, responsible for coaching and career development.


In This Role, You Will


  • Lead teams to make digital product decisions that are data-driven, using both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Aligning product strategy with business goals
  • Collaborate with Human Centered Design partners & CX strategists, research, analytics and design teams to ensure a flawless and fabulous end-to-end customer experience across digital products
  • Collaborate with key business, Design and IT partners/customers to implement and drive product processes and mature digital product model
  • Collaborate closely with business partners to achieve business priorities & initiatives
  • Work with cross-functional teams such as engineering, other digital product managers, design, privacy, security, internal customers, and business partners to create and lead product roadmap.
  • Communicating product vision and strategy to partners
  • Be accountable for driving product discovery, market research, and competitor research to advise the digital product strategy and roadmap for the suite of products under your purview
  • Driving innovation and new product initiatives
  • Conduct ongoing industry and competitive analysis, demonstrating market insights to deepen individual and teams functional expertise on all topics related to Domain.
  • Champion a customer focused culture and product led approach to launching great digital experiences

  • Key Accountabilities


    The Director, Digital Product Management may lead multiple digital product teams and primary responsibilities include:


    • Represent digital Product in key cross-functional critical initiatives to understand goals, alignment to vision and priority
    • Support teams in evangelizing these opportunities within and across the organization
    • Inspire and empower Product team and modeling good Product Management behaviors such as leading through influence, relationship development, collaboration, communication, good product artifact hygiene and most of all customer empathy.
    • Work closely with Business leadership, Engineering, Design, Technical Program management and Marketing to continuously provide high-value, easy to use experiences for all customers / users
    • Define and communicate a clear and comprehensive vision and strategy for the product management team that will drive growth and expansion
    • Lead the way for your product area(s) by owning and communicating a creative, innovative and effective product strategy
    • Develop systems and processes to ensure product management function operates efficiently and effectively
    • Provide leadership and direction to teams in defining and articulating new ways to enhance customer value and achieve Manulife business goals, include Value stream and functional unit level OKRs
    • Monitor industry, competitive and general business trends to enable strategic planning and delivery of outcomes in alignment with segment priorities
    • Maintain a firm understanding of business, customer, and end-user pain points, needs, and preferences in order to advocate for the ideal experience

    What We Are Looking For


    • Background in digital or IT preferred
    • Proven coaching attitude and abilities, enabling team members in defining solutions, and delivering to outcomes
    • Sophisticated level of experience turning complex business problems into successful digital experiences both directly and through leading teams
    • Demonstrated senior experience leading and inspiring multi-disciplinary product teams both directly and by influence.
    • Previous experience in financial services / insurance a bonus
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in leading people/teams
    • Both big picture thinking and detail-oriented doing.
    • Confirmed experience using agile methodologies and human centered design principals, to deliver value in a fast paced, matrixed organizational environment
    • 10 years of relevant digital product management experience in a fast-paced environment.

    The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

    Salary range is expected to be between


    $100,500.00 CAD - $180,900.00 CAD
