Job Summary:
The Director, BI will develop and lead our data roadmap, infrastructure and governance, that will thrive as a technical expert, thought leader, and teacher with our diverse and highly skilled team. You will leverage your leadership and technical expertise to mobilize the Data Team to ensure the business has the right data at the right time that will allow for better decision making and promote best practices across the organization. With the support of a passionate team, you will help create real value for both our internal stakeholders and your teammates.
The function is highly strategic and still in development so you will have creative input on the team’s structure and vision as well as working with all the critical stakeholders within the organization to bring the business into a data driven culture. If you do not want to fall into a routine and be an isolated BI person, you have come to the right place.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee experimentation design and analysis framework to help deepen our understanding of our products and services.
- Develop and execute a Data strategy that supports all business units across the organization.
- Fill in experience gaps as the teams grow (including writing code, building reports, debugging data pipelines, implementing the newest tools, etc.)
- Work with other departments to understand their Data needs and promote the adoption of analytical principles within the organization.
- Increase and maintain data literacy within the organization, partnering with the business teams to best take advantage of the Data available to them.
- Lead the development of statistical models to extract trends, measure results, and predict future performance.
- Serve as a technical expert (SME) to the Data team, guiding their design and architecture decisions and validating the quality of the analytical approach and project outputs of the other team members.
- Lead and grow the Data team from Data Engineering to Data Science & Analytics.
- Build and maintain the Data Infrastructure and Governance (Collection to Cleansing to Reporting, Languages, BI Platforms, etc.).
- Monitor the latest industry trends and technologies in business intelligence to ensure the company maintains a competitive edge.
Requirements:
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, ETL process, and BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Strong experience with SQL and data modeling techniques.
- A master’s degree, in mathematics, business intelligence, statistics, engineering, computer science or any applicable field is preferred
- Experience in managing and executing projects, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
