Job Description
Requisition ID: 178037

Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Authentication Services team to help us support, deploy, and enhance the CI/CD pipelines supporting one of the largest Identity and Access Management (IAM) services in Canada.

This DevOps Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining not only continuous integration and deployment pipelines, but also other automated processes to deliver software safely — all while ensuring quality and maintaining compliance with production delivery process controls. Responsible for automating the deployment process, for monitoring system performance, and for troubleshooting any problems that arise, they will collaborate with development teams and operation teams to ensure that software applications run smoothly and efficiently. As well, they will mentor junior developers to enhance their engineering skills as well as their own leadership skills.

What will you do?

  • Implement Ansible scripts to upgrade the platform automatically
  • Advocate DevOps best practices and code compliance
  • Work in a cross-functional team in an Agile Scrum environment
  • Support and troubleshoot Java-on-Linux development and runtime environments
  • Maintain GIT workflows to manage Ansible source code
  • Ensure swift onboarding of different business channels' tenants to the CI/CD pipeline using the enterprise's cloud solution
  • Use Confluence for the solution documentation
  • Automate the deployment of application configuration across multiple environments, technologies, and platforms using Ansible
  • Use Jira to track issues and change management

What do you need to succeed?

  • You should be open to new and innovative approaches, be accepting of different opinions, to 360-degree feedback, and be ready to leverage other team members' work and ideas.
  • You should be constantly developing yourself by acquiring knowledge from neighbouring teams as well as through self-instruction by exploring the Internet, and through meetups, conferences, and user communities.
  • A strong sense of ownership
  • You believe that empowering users through coaching and training, robust and secure automation, and easily accessible and practical documentation is the way to achieve success in DevOps.
  • You should be curious and passionate about all things DevOps, about Application Lifecycle Management, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Agile, Lean Processes, and automation in general, all while understanding and respecting the financial industry's IT specifics, especially regulations, security, and audit — often in a hybrid (waterfall + agile) environment.
  • You should seek to continuously improve.

Must-have

  • You should have hands-on technical experience working as a DevOps Engineer with such DevOps and CI/CD technologies and tools as Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jenkins, etc.
  • Hands on experience working on configuration management tools such as Ansible, chef, puppet etc.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows
  • Hands on experience working on Linux
  • You possess excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • You should also have excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships within the team, not to mention with internal — and external — business partners and vendors.

Nice-to-haves
  • Technical skills preferred:
  • Familiarity with IAM solutions such as Forgerock openAM, Identity and Data management.
  • Azure
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • GCP

What's in it for you?

  • We hire you for your talent — not just a job — so you can grow with us. We'll equip you for success not only in your role, but also in your career as a whole
  • We have an inclusive and collaborative working environment that encourages creativity and curiosity and celebrates success
  • A competitive rewards package that includes a base salary, a performance bonus, company matching programs on pension and profit sharing, paid vacation, personal & sick days, medical, vision, and dental benefits that start from day one and much more
  • Our work from home social channel offers weekly virtual yoga, social events, learning opportunities, and contests to share current experiences & promote wellbeing in our new remote environment
  • Access to thousands of online and in-person courses so you can hone your current skills, or learn new ones
  • Dress codes don't apply here: being comfortable does
  • You'll get to work with and learn from diverse industry leaders, who have hailed from top technology companies around the world
  • We provide you with the tools and technology needed to create meaningful customer experiences

Work conditions: Hybrid

Some of our perks & onsite offerings will be offline as we continue to monitor federal and provincial regulations around COVID-19
