Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, as well as providing technical support for our desktop systems. Working both in a virtual Cloud and local environment, your understanding of the Microsoft desktop environment running Microsoft based applications will allow you to provide the technical support to resolve issues quickly.


Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm in office


In this role, you will:


  • Compose outage notifications and follow the escalation matrix to resolve major incidents.
  • Participate in IT projects, develop the knowledge base, and educate users about computer applications.
  • Support and troubleshoot enterprise applications hosted on Windows Servers.
  • Escalate restoration beyond the scope of on-site support to the appropriate tier 2 support team member.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, workstations, printers, and network issues.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, network infrastructure, and internal desktop systems.
  • Communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Maintain passwords, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment.
  • Utilize an ITSM system to track requests and remotely assist field technicians with hardware escalations and client environments.
  • Interact with multiple computer platforms in a multi-layered client-server environment to ensure seamless connectivity.
  • Prepare and document post-incident reports during major incidents, following the incident management process.
  • Diagnose and resolve a wide range of desktop application problems and network connectivity issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks and resolve less complex problems immediately, escalating more complex issues as needed.


You have:


  • CompTIA A+ Certification (or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in software installation and troubleshooting in a Windows environment.
  • Experience with PC assembly or repair.
  • Experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting basic Windows Servers (2012/2016/2019), Office 365, Azure AD, and Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with installing, upgrading, supporting, and troubleshooting Enterprise Applications on MS Terminal Services.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an enterprise/business IT environment.
  • Knowledge of desktop hardware in an enterprise or business setting.
  • Effective project/task management skills, meeting tight deadlines.
