THE OPPORTUNITY
Requirements Background

• Prior experience developing graph theoretic algorithms is a plus
• Experience applying statistical methods (distribution analysis, classification, clustering, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience highlighting innovation, creativity, and intuition, e.g the ability to laterally identify other sources of useful information and think 'outside the box'
• An advanced degree in Computer Science is preferred
• Prior experience or passion for finance is a plus
• Strong coding skills in Python, specifically with Dataframes a prerequisite
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis or a similar role

About The Role
This foundational role with high impact and visibility will require working closely with the CEO, engineering, and investment teams within the organization. As one of our first data scientists, you will help drive the processes and shape the products that will determine the future of the company. You will play a critical role in the prioritization, definition, and execution of our most significant research development efforts.
Day-to-day, you will:

• Operate and extend the data science platform to deliver production-grade data curation and analysis services
• Work closely with the company data science and technology team to develop a best-in-class technology stack to enable the firm’s data science practice
• Apply statistical analysis & modeling techniques with finance intuition to datasets large and small, advance existing initiatives and open opportunities to pursue new and previously unexplored research topics across a wide variety of industries and domains
• Visualize and explore data sets to enable the ideation and generation of new, predictive features
• Own end-to-end data workflows and develop deep domain expertise on the underlying actors and behaviors manifested through data
• Work closely with our client’s investment team to turn datasets into actionable insights by working 1:1 with investment team leads to support underwriting of all new investment targets
