Data Engineer [Remote; Europe]

To support our international growth, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team.

As iwinBACK Data Engineer will be responsible for implementing models from our Data Scientists. You will also be required to investigate and discover customer insights to help us make smarter decisions and deliver a better customer experience and refine our products. Your primary focus will be on applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high-quality prediction systems that will be integrated with our products. You will also be responsible for assisting in the development of machine learning systems. This includes but is not limited to Regression Models, Hidden Markov Models, Decision Trees, SVM, Naive Bayes, k-NN, etc.

The ideal candidate's favorite words are learning, data, scale, and agility. You will leverage your strong collaboration skills and ability to extract valuable insights from highly complex data sets to ask the right questions and find the right answers.

Responsibilities

• Extending company’s datasets with third-party sources of information when needed
• Development and preprocessing of datasets for use in Machine Learning
• Data mining
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
• Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results
• Generate actionable insights for business improvements
• Selecting features, building and optimising classifiers using machine learning techniques
• Development and definition of machine learning algorithms
• Analyse raw data: assessing quality, cleansing, structuring for downstream processing
• Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
• Design accurate and scalable prediction algorithms
• Understanding business objectives and performing analysis to deliver insights and define possible solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases
• At least 2 - 3 years' of experience in quantitative analytics or data modelling
• Fluency in a programming language (Python, C,C++, Java, SQL)
• Deep understanding of predictive modelling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms
• Familiarity with Big Data frameworks and visualisation tools (Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Tableau)
• Experience with PowerBI

Salary range: depending on the seniority + additional benefits
