What You’ll Do

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot and/or develop solutions to better understand and manage customer data by consistently looking for areas of improvement
• Design and build customer data warehouse on Snowflake in a consistent and scalable manner
• Build and own analytics infrastructure that delivers good quality data, reliably
• Identify opportunities for new customer related data sources and using data in new ways that could have direct business impact
• Evaluate new tools, build prototypes and be an advocate for modern, scalable data infrastructure
• Act as the subject matter expert on Sunwing’s data environment with respect to customer data creation and consumption for all existing data sources
• Support the building of robust, scalable data ingestion pipelines
• Identify opportunities to help analytics team accomplish their deliverables more efficiently and effectively
• Connecting disparate data sources to reveal a more holistic customer profile and minimizing data that is not easily accessible

What You’ll Need

• You are comfortable building ETL/ELT flows that extract data from various systems
• You are comfortable leading data architecture and design discussions
• You understand software engineering fundamentals and principles
• University degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or Commerce is considered an asset
• Snowflake experience is required
• Minimum five (5) years of work-related experience, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory/management role
• You have a good understanding of data engineering best practices (batch data processing, streaming, etc.)
• You have solid experience in designing schemas and data models for use in transformation
• You have curiosity towards experimenting with new data tools/methods and are abreast with the latest trends in data
