Job Purpose


To provide all arrangements for transportation of orders and be responsible for ensuring that all 100+ shipments per day are correctly packaged with the correct documentation, shipped and delivered without incidents to our customers worldwide.


Responsibilities and Duties


Maintain a High Level of Safety


  • General housekeeping of work area.
  • Work in a manner that does not jeopardize the safety of self or co-workers.
  • Promote a safe working environment.
  • Understand and foresee possible safety issues.
  • Abide by health and safety guidelines prescribed by governing bodies and the TRC Environmental Health and Safety Committee.


Arrange Transportation


  • Generate customs documents i.e. TSCA, NAFTA, B13, etc. and update as needed
  • Obtaining information from catalogues as necessary
  • Generate and review dangerous goods documentations for dangerous goods shipments
  • Resolve any shipment customs delays by providing missing information or documents to FedEx and any other couriers
  • Handling/resolving any shipping issues that may arise, including but not limited to incorrect and missing customer information or incorrect HS codes
  • Assist in processing orders via FedEx and other couriers
  • Creating/generating Air Way Bills (AWB) and shipping labels for all outgoing orders to be shipped via courier populating necessary information
  • Handle RUSH orders accordingly
  • Ensuring Fed-Ex or other courier shipping information is correct in order to guarantee timely delivery and to minimize associated costs


Packing and Shipping


  • Ensure that all shipments are properly packaged with appropriate labels
  • Follow-up on missing or incorrect documentation, including but not limited to missing C of A’s or expired MSDS’s
  • Process RUSH shipments accordingly and communicate with Customer Service if there is a delay
  • Handling/resolving any shipping issues that may arise, including but not limited to missing items or product returns
  • Complete final inspection of items against order (as per invoice or packing slip)
  • Pack product according to product requirements such as temperature sensitive and dangerous goods materials


Perform Other Duties


  • Perform other duties and complete additional projects as assigned, commensurate with job knowledge and experience.


Qualifications


Education Requirements


  • Previous experience shipping chemicals and/or dangerous goods & knowledge of shipping requirements
  • Previous experience shipping through different couriers i.e. FedEx, UPS, DHL
  • MSR certificate an asset not required, but would be an asset
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a similar role in a similar industry
  • FileMaker experience would be an asset
  • Previous experience in shipping and Waybill
  • Knowledge of international transportation and customs would be an asset
  • FedEx Powership software experience an asset
  • Diploma in International Transportation and Customs or similar accreditation is preferred
