Job Overview
The Customer Service Team Representative (Inside Claims Representative I) contributes to Wawanesa’s goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims experience through the fair and equitable adjustment of small to moderate insurance claims by means of telephone and written correspondence. In this role you will provide exceptional support to our members during our extended hours period; please see the important details regarding the work schedule for this role below the job qualifications.
Job Responsibilities
  • Investigate losses to determine liability
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Interpret policy wordings, determine policy coverage and ensure appropriate reserving
  • Maintain accurate records based on company standards and policies within the claims system
  • Negotiate with insureds, claimants, lawyers and insurers
  • Coordinate services with vendors and service providers
  • Evaluate relevant information from sources such as appraisers, third party adjusters, contractors and repair facilities in order to quantify losses
  • Adjust claims from inception to completion in a proactive manner
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering inbound calls from a queue
Qualifications
  • Good time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Good investigative and analytical skills
  • Good negotiation skills
  • College/University degree in progress is preferred
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
  • Effective customer service skills demonstrating empathy and concern for customer satisfaction
Work Schedule
  • Summer schedule (Effective June 26th, 2023):
  • The successful candidate will work between 22.5 - 37.5 hours per week throughout the Summer, within the core business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday
  • In-person/ on-site training/ onboarding will be a duration of 2 weeks, in-person (North York, ON), which will be Full Time (37.5 hours per week), Monday - Friday
  • This position will be fully remote for the evening shifts
  • Opportunity for a full time schedule, up to 37.5 hours per week (core hours worked will be between 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday)
  • Fall Schedule (Effective September 18th, 2023):
  • The successful candidate will be able to commit to working a regular shift which will provide coverage during the extended hours period: 4:30 PM - 9:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday (22.5 hours per week)
