Designation Status

The Office is hiring three Coordinators, Partnership and Issues Management positions.
The first of its kind in the country, the role of the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment (OHPR), created in 2021, is to put a laser focus on the collective efforts of government and other organizations that help bring healthcare professionals to Nova Scotia and help them to put down roots in our communities. Primary Accountabilities
As the Coordinator, you will provide coordination, project management oversight, and support to a multidisciplinary team of professionals who are committed to creating and leading a culture and climate that supports the successful recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals in Nova Scotia.
Specifically, You Will
  • Works in partnership with the Physician Services branch team to support retention initiatives, such as Return of Service (ROS) agreements pertaining to Physicians.
  • Lead the coordination and preparation of briefing materials and background documents in support of senior leadership, Deputy Minister, and/or Minister participation in meetings with partners.
  • Lead the coordination and preparation of correspondence and related materials on behalf of senior leadership, the Deputy Minister and/or Minister.
  • Contribute to the effective resolution of issues of concern that may exist between the Office and its partners.
  • Identify issues of concern and support in the participation of their resolution.
  • Develop effective working relationships across government departments and within the Office including using a facilitation approach to gather information from partners
  • Provide project management support to projects and initiatives.
Qualifications And Experience
The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree in a related discipline (e.g. social sciences, public administration, health administration) with several years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the health care sector is an asset.
In Addition, You Possess The Following
  • Experience in developing and presenting written recommendations
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Experience developing partnerships with government departments, agencies and/or employers
  • Experience in supporting projects and/or initiatives
You must have strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to understand and explain programs and policies. Knowledge of and experience with general office software is required (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet etc.).
Previous Project Management experience would be considered an asset.

Salary Range: $2,432.85 - $3,041.05 Bi-Weekly
