Job Description
Position Title: Cook
Reporting to: Food Service Manager
Hours: Part Time 15 hours bi weekly
Location: Niagara Long Term Care Residence

A day in the role of a Cook at Niagara Long Term Care Residence. As a Cook at Niagara Long Term Care Residence, you will be given high expectations, as well as an expectation to continue personal growth and professional growth. In this position, you will be gifted with a rewarding experience every day in the form of being able to see the exact impact you place on our residents. As a Cook, you will report directly to the Food Services Manager. This position is responsible for but not limited to meal preparation.
Qualifications
The qualifications needed to join our family at Niagara Long Term Care Residence are as follows
QualificationsAt the Niagara Long Term Care Residence, we take pride in our employees, so your qualifications are important to us. We use them to get to know you and see if we are a good fit for each other.
  • Certification in Food Preparation designation from an accredited school,
  • Completion of Safe Good Handlers Certification course,
  • Minimum 5 years or related experience in retirement, hospital or hotel setting in volume food preparation,
  • Knowledge of Ontario Food Premises Regulation and Canada’s Food Guide,
  • Must enjoy working with Residents,
  • Highly organized and about to work independently.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English,
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written,
  • Knowledge of special and therapeutic diets,
  • Ability to work within and promote a team environment,
  • Familiar with weights and measurements, recipe conversion and portion control,
