We're looking for talented and passionate Line Cooks and Senior Line Cooks to join our beautiful Mexican r (https://www.madrinatapas.com/) estaurant, El Catrin Destileria (https://www.elcatrin.ca/) !

- $20.00 - $22.00 PER HOUR, plus tips and food discounts at all our restaurants.
- CONTESTS! Greatest Dish Challenge: A monthly cooking competition open to all DRC cooks with a $250 CASH prize. This is also a great opportunity to challenge yourself and have a panel of DRC Executive Chefs to try your food.
- TRIPS! Yes, you read that right – field trips! Selected employees get the chance to visit artisan food producers, cooking demos, farms and suppliers to educate and inspire.
- Preparing food according to recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set out by our Executive Chef
- Maintaining clean and organized stations
- Following FIFO method to maximize product freshness
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
- Encouraging the DRC’s core beliefs and values on a daily basis
- Operating standard kitchen equipment with caution
- Reporting any equipment/utensil malfunctions/deficiencies to Chef on duty
- Working collaboratively with BOH team members
- Moving food products and supplies between outlets when necessary
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS. You demonstrate exceptional relationship-building and communication skills among your team members at the restaurant.
- PASSION. You have a genuine passion for food and a drive to create.
- PERSONALITY. You’re humble coupled with a good sense of humour.
- ADAPTABILITY. You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- EDUCATION/TRAINING. You’ve graduated with a culinary degree/diploma or it’s in process. It’s possible that school wasn’t your thing, but you’ve got the equivalent to a college education through a combination of education and experience.
- EXPERIENCE. You have at least 2 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Ideally, you have experience with Mexican cuisine and/or a solid understanding of the flavour profile.
