At Manulife Bank, we believe banking products are an integral part of every Canadian's financial plan. As one of Canada's youngest banks, we are growing at an unprecedented rate and need people with the skills, energy, and drive to maintain our position. We offer competitive compensation and a supportive work environment with flexible hours.

What will I be doing?

You will join forces with other talented people to analyze business and key control needs and you will be responsible for risk management activities utilizing control assessments, providing access security governance and oversight, facilitating the development and adherence to key controls, and supporting our internal partners with internal and external audits. Then you start on the next challenge and do it again!

Your Responsibilities Would Include

  • Assisting with business controls walkthroughs with stakeholders, to ensure appropriate focus on key controls.
  • Using your analytical skills and critical thinking to ask questions, understand our business drivers and needs to support controls reviews for business processes.
  • Capitalizing on your ability to build and cultivate positive, effective relationships to strengthen your partnership with key stakeholders.
  • You’re supporting recurring processes including Access card reject management, Anti-Money Laundering reviews, CDIC dry-run, FATCA/CRS reporting, Interest rate exception oversight, Losses & Errors, and regulatory customer mailings.
  • Assist in the defining of role-based system access profiles and partnering with business leaders for ongoing monitoring (using tools such as IIQ) for Manulife Bank staff and vendors.
  • Supporting the Operations Controls Officer with reviews of Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) for each business team within Manulife Bank.
  • Using your strong communication skills to lead meetings and present information to all levels within the company.
  • You’re a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) representing control processes and system access governance, working with our Bank Delivery Organization (squads) to ensure sufficient controls are in place.
  • You support the Operations Controls Officer with coordinating the completion of annual SOX, Audit, and Compliance requirements or attestations.
  • Influencing your teammates with your good humor and passion for your role!
  • Acting as a liaison with key operations stakeholders and Audit (Internal and External), to review business processes and gather and review audit evidence documentation. You assist Operations teams with Audit or Corrective Action Plans, including reviewing evidence and updates prior to closure deadlines.

Qualifications

  • You “go with the flow” and can adapt to change.
  • You have a basic understanding of controls frameworks and risk management practices.
