Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Supervisor Construction, the Construction Supervisor oversees and supervises construction-related activities at project sites. The Construction Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all projects are executed safely and efficiently in a manner consistent with company Vision and Values including adherence to all applicable specifications, codes, and standards.

Accountabilities (Duties & Responsibilities)

• May perform other duties as assigned.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Operations and Project Management personnel to ensure ongoing alignment between stakeholders in the execution of the project scope.
• Coordinate multiple construction contractors’ activities to ensure work is executed safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
• Review all contractor daily time tickets and validate them against work completed and contractual requirements.
• Provide daily construction progress reports as well as cost, schedule, and quality compliance updates to Project Management Team as required.
• Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Company Vision and Values.
• Monitor contractor quality control documentation to ensure turnover packages are prepared as the project progresses.
• Effectively communicate project construction risks and planned mitigations to the Project Management Team such as scope changes, weather impacts, schedule delays, equipment or material delays, labour shortages or any other risks observed at a field level.
• Actively participate in site construction and commissioning planning.
• Responsible for supervision of specific scopes of work (civil, mechanical, E&I, tank) as assigned by the Senior Construction Supervisor.
• Actively participate in project meetings as required.
• Effectively communicate opportunities for project optimization from a construction perspective.

Minimum Qualifications – Related Education, Experience & Skills

• Demonstrates a strong ability to build relationships with internal and external clients.
• Strong ability to coordinate workload to achieve the most effective use of time.
• Ability to function in high-energy environment with reliability and flexibility.
• Completion of High School (or equivalent) is required.
• Minimum of 5 (10+ for Senior) years experience in supervisory roles in oil & gas construction.
• Trade or Technical School Diploma/Degree preferred.
• Demonstrates strong technical skills regarding field operations, construction, projects, and
• Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office Suite, and various other software packages.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
• Engineering.
• Technical Accreditation or Designation (Journeyman Ticket, CET, P.Eng. etc.) is required.
• Proven self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude.

Working Conditions

• This job is subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as outlined in Company’ Drug & Alcohol policy.
• Shift work is required. A typical shift on company projects is a 10 days on and 4 days off (Tuesday through week following Thursday) rotation.
• Up to 12 hours worked per day when supervising active construction activities.
• Majority of the work is performed at Company construction and operating locations with time spent both in an office environment and out on the construction site.
