Position:Site Foreman - Civil Construction (Bridge Foreperson)

Location:Various Project Sites

Position Description:

We are looking for an experienced and capable Foreperson to join our growing team. This role is intended for a motivated individual who values their work, possesses a keen eye for detail, and exhibits exceptional leadership and practical skills.

Responsibilities & Duties (A Day in life):

• Communicate goals and objectives clearly and effectively, leading by example.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure successful project delivery and establish strategies for meeting contract milestones.
• Provide proactive training and mentorship to enhance the skills and knowledge of crew members.
• Oversee field quality control and liaise with inspectors, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure strict adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Company Safety policies throughout all work activities.
• Supervise and lead a crew comprising various skilled workers, such as carpenters, laborers, and equipment operators.
• Demonstrate the company's commitment to customer service, professionalism, and excellence.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including assuming crew member responsibilities as needed.
• Interpret blueprints and project-related documentation to effectively plan and organize work tasks.
• Facilitate daily team meetings to establish production objectives and communicate expectations.
• Identify any requested changes beyond the contracted scope and report them as change management issues.
• Lead daily and weekly safety meetings, promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with safety policies among crew members.
• Be able to pick up and drop off working crews if required.
• Oversee and manage crew activities on site.
• Maintain a detailed job diary, recording daily events and progress.
• Take responsibility for scheduling materials, equipment, and crew activities in a timely manner.

Work Conditions & Physical Capabilities:

• Physical stamina necessary, involving frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and climbing, among other demands.
• Ability to work outdoors, exposed to diverse conditions such as heat, humidity, dust, noise, and cold temperatures.

Qualifications:

· Required: Must have minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing field crews.

· Required: Must have at least five (5) years of civil construction experience.

· Preferred: Experience in bridge construction/rehabilitation projects.

· Must have experience in concrete formwork and concrete placement.

· Comprehensive understanding of concrete materials, workability, finishing, and curing.

· Thorough knowledge of concrete formwork systems and their assembly.

· Ability to work extended hours, flexible shifts, and weekends.

· Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

IMPORTANT NOTE:This role necessitates frequent travel and on-site presence from Monday to Friday. Beton will cover all transportation, accommodation, food, and additional expenses.
