Job Description


JOB TITLE: CONCESSIONS ATTENDANT


DEPARTMENT: COMMUNITY SERVICES


NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 10


JOB STATUS & DURATION: Part time


HOURS OF WORK: 24 hour workweek


STARTING SALARY: $15.50 per hour

Area Of Responsibility


Reporting to the Recreation Programmer/Community Programs Coordinator/ Recreation Supervisor, this position is responsible for professionally preparing and serving refreshments while providing excellent customer service.


  • Attend meetings/training as required
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
  • Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (eg. verify float, record spoilage, revenue documentation, opening and closing procedures)
  • Responsible for the preparation and serving of food and drinks
  • Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation
  • Clean equipment and keep concessions area safe and tidy
  • Provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging customers in product selection
  • Utilize POS system to complete sales transactions and end of shift report
  • Anticipate volume and prepare food/stock to meet demand
  • Follow operating and food preparation standards
  • Check and replace stock and complete inventory counts
  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures as scheduled


Selection Criteria


  • Minimum 15 years of age
  • Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria.
  • Food Handler’s Certification, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
  • Courteous and personable
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
  • Preference will be given to students that have a permanent residency in Brampton.
