Position Overview:


The Computer Support Technician provides on-site and remote-office technical support service. Including installation, configuration and problem resolution for company systems and service. Provides technical support on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment and services. Serves as a contact on technical and service-related problems. The Computer Support Technician will work under the supervision of the IT Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of computer hardware, software and resources.
  • Troubleshoots staff issues while maintaining system services within reasonable time.
  • Ensuring nightly backup, security, virus protection, and licensed software is in place.
  • Setup and manage user profile accounts
  • Sets up and configures user workstations and equipment.
  • Supports installation and implementation of connectivity and system products.
  • Resolves technical problems with hardware, software and connectivity.
  • Participates with On-call after hours service responsibilities.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any and all hardware, software and network system issues to ensure maximum uptime of critical systems.
  • Participates in the configuration and support of internal systems.
  • Monitors and responds to service requests within Aplin & Martin and Murray & Associate offices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any and all hardware, software and network systems issues to ensure maximum uptime of critical systems including Internet access.


Skills and Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of computer hardware, network administration, computer troubleshooting, and computer security practices.
  • Wireless Networking.
  • Common Application Support
  • Strong organizational skills and customer service skills.
  • Network Infrastructure.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Computer Systems, Computer Sciences, or related program.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Server Virtualization (HyperV, VMWare or Citrix Systems) is considered beneficial.
  • Workstation Networking.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
  • Printer/Peripheral support.
  • 2 years’ experience configuring/troubleshooting computer systems and networks in a small or medium sized corporate environment.
  • Must have class 5 driver license as occasional travel will be required to the satellite offices.
  • Desktop / Laptop/Tablet Hardware support.
  • Working experience with Windows systems.
  • Proven skills to troubleshoot and maintain IT system services, administer user accounts and ability to perform installation, setup, and maintenance of software, and hardware.
