Computer Aided Design Designer

Our Toronto, ON office seeks an experiencedStructural CADDrafter / Designerto support our bridge projects. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently on developing structural design packages from concept to final design.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares detail and quantity calculations
• Verifies the accuracy of drawings
• Assists the design team in creating plans from concept through final construction drawings
• Development of project and presentation graphics
• Maintains project libraries and CADstandard
• Creates base drawings using survey information and CADprogram(s)
• Performs general administrative assistance by maintaining project plans
• Provides leadership and directs junior staff
• Prepares geometry calculations

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to work in Auto-CADand MicroStation
• 8-12 years’ experience working as a drafter/designer on bridge projects using MicroStation, and Auto-CAD.
• Prefer detail-oriented candidates with solid skills in plan and detail development for transportation structures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
• Development of project and presentation graphics
• Ability to work in a team environment, self-starter, demonstrated organization skills and team player.
• GIS experience is considered an asset
• Performs general administrative assistance by maintaining project plans
• Minimum 7 years’ of structural design experience
• Knowledge in 3D / BIM and modelling an asset
• Knowledge of key client CAD Standards
