This role is for a volunteer who is passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and are looking for the opportunity to build a supporting relationship.

We are looking for volunteer visitors to join our team in Scarborough. This post will support a lovely older lady to go shopping at charity shops and car boot sales and go out for meals. She has a love of Christmas and classic comedy programs such as Heartbeat, The Royal and Last of the Summer Wine. She also loves clubbing and dance music but is not keen on arts and crafts.

About This Service

We offer a lifelong befriending service for people with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of individual people with a learning disability.

Our visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing.

In many cases, our visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.
