Job Description
Position Overview:
The Advanced Specialist Nursing Education - Child Health is a highly skilled and experienced nursing professional responsible for providing advanced clinical education, training, and support within the pediatric ward, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This role requires a deep understanding of child health, specialized nursing knowledge, and the ability to provide guidance and mentorship to other nursing staff.
This position is ON-SITE, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Education and Training:
• Develop and implement educational programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of nursing staff working in the pediatric ward, NICU, and PICU.
• Conduct training sessions, workshops, and in-service education programs on various child health topics, including specialized care for pediatric patients, neonates, and critically ill children.
• Collaborate with the nursing leadership team to identify and address educational needs and develop relevant curriculum and learning materials.
- Mentoring and Support:
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to nursing staff working in child health settings, assisting them in improving their clinical competencies and professional development.
• Serve as a resource and consultant for nurses, offering expert advice on complex cases, evidence-based practices, and best practices in child health care.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth among the nursing staff by encouraging participation in educational opportunities and facilitating ongoing training.
- Clinical Expertise:
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise in child health, including pediatric diseases, conditions, treatments, and advancements in pediatric care.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the provision of high-quality, evidence-based care to pediatric patients, NICU infants, and critically ill children.
• Participate in clinical rounds, case conferences, and multidisciplinary meetings, contributing valuable insights and recommendations for patient care and treatment plans.
- Quality Improvement and Research:
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying areas for improvement, implementing evidence-based practices, and evaluating outcomes to enhance patient care in child health settings.
• Stay abreast of current research and evidence in child health, incorporating new knowledge into educational programs and clinical practice.
• Collaborate with research teams and participate in nursing research projects, contributing to the advancement of pediatric nursing practice.
- Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurse managers, and allied healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for pediatric patients.
• Maintain open lines of communication with nursing leadership, reporting on educational activities, outcomes, and challenges regularly.
• Serve as a liaison between the pediatric ward, NICU, and PICU nursing staff, fostering collaboration and information sharing among teams.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing/Nursing Education
• Current nursing (RN) license
• A minimum of eight years recent experience as a Registered Nurse at a large acute-care/tertiary teaching hospital.
• Including a minimum of four years of current, full-time experience in as a Nurse Educator providing Pediatric education for bedside RNs.
