Exciting news! The philanthropy team at United Way Southern Vancouver Island (UWSVI) is creating a new Special Projects Fundraising Team, and we are searching for two experienced fundraisers in Victoria, BC. Both the Capital Campaign Manager – Special Projects and the Major Gifts Officer – Special Projects will have the enviable role of starting a new fundraising division that will focus on small but important community projects. You will work closely with diverse community partners and have realistic timelines to raise the achievable funding that will make a real difference in our community. Capital Campaign Manager – Special Projects:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Capital Campaign Manager will implement and manage all aspects of UWSVI Special Project Capital Campaigns, including all solicitation phases of the campaign, event planning, cultivation, and campaign publications/communications. Our ideal candidate brings 5+ years of Capital Campaign fundraising for a non-profit organization, and capital giving in the $5k to $100K range is considered a strong asset. Self-motivation, excellent interpersonal skills, people management experience, and strong presentation and training skills will help you excel in this role.

Major Gifts Officer – Special Projects:
Reporting to the Capital Campaign Manager, the Major Gifts Officer will manage a robust pipeline of major donors and provide leadership on fundraising strategies that enhance revenue development, grow the number of donors, and position UWSVI as a social impact leader and charity of choice for individual donors, corporate partners, and high net worth individuals. Our ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience working on Major Gift fundraising for a non-profit organization, with a proven track record of success. Excellent communication skills and strong relationship-building abilities will be required to thrive in this role.

What will make you successful in either role?
- Five plus years of fundraising experience, including a track record of achieving revenue targets
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation an asset
- High proficiency with Microsoft computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and strong CRM database management experience
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Communications, or Public Relations, or an equivalent combination of training and experience in a non-profit environment
- BC Driver’s License required
