More IT role, person will be preparing the workflows – must have 2 to 3 years

HM wants candidate with these two (2) must have skills/experience:

(i) CROMWELL experience

(ii) knowledge about the WDL language

Project

The Genomic Workflows and Data Infrastructure Team (GWDI) enables scientists and researchers within Client:

• To visualize genomics data, related to genomic sequencing projects, Clinical trials, Internal and External studies.
• To run and manage workflows/pipelines with analysis,
• To quickly find and access various data types,
• To order and to manage the orders of samples,

Project Responsibilities

• Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions
• Address user tickets regarding biological resource sets and bioinformatics pipelines
• Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional
• Ability to ask targeted questions to diagnose problems
• Report customer feedback and potential product requests
• Help create technical documentation and manuals
• Resolve workflows/tools and technical questions for the customer quickly and effectively
• Problem-solving attitude along with the ability to give clear technical guidance.
• Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support
• Troubleshoot bioinformatics workflow failures

Education

• 2-3 years of experience required with minimum of a Bachelors/Master’s Degree in bioinformatics, computer science, biology or related fields.

Required skills

• Good debugging skills
• Experience working with High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
• Experience with analysis of high throughput data such as NGS data.
• Experience in analyzing whole exome / genome sequencing data.
• Good understanding of biological concepts and an interest to learn more.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Good data science practices and understanding of data complexity.
• Experience in working with workflow management system
• Familiarity with issue tracking tools (JIRA)
• Excellent communication, advanced English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
• Experience with working in Linux-based servers.
