JOB SUMMARY: Identify Mechanical, Electrical, and control-related issues on existing equipment. Repair/Replace control-related components (Relays, Contactors, Sensors, Programmable Controllers, Actuators, etc.). Read and understand existing programs to diagnose problems. Make changes to existing programs to facilitate additional functionality. Install control components in new and retrofit environments.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Maintains company tools and equipment.
  • Set up a schedule and adjust set points for controls with minimal supervision.
  • Processes paperwork promptly.
  • Installation of control wiring, controllers, sensors, software, Installation of control wiring, controllers, sensors, software, and rooftop units.
  • Point-to-point checkout, start-up, and commissioning on assigned projects.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
  • Participates in job site completion for systems turnover.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain DDC and pneumatic control systems, involving trades when necessary to make repairs or adjustments.
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle from job site to job site.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all security and facility information.
  • Able to pull wires, bend conduit, mount, and wire field devices, and rough in of thermostats.
  • Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the company safety handbook.
  • Utilize hand/power tools, company-issued laptops, and on-site test equipment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the company employee handbook.
  • Interact with customers daily in a professional manner.
  • Assists programmer in commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Basic PC skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel?
  • Associate's or Technical Degree or equivalent work experience preferred but not required.
  • Must have strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Electrical and HVAC equipment knowledge is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience
  • Experience in wiring is a plus.
  • Self-starter and can work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be dependable, including reliable attendance.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Tridium Niagara software is a plus but not required.
  • Basic IT networking experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
License/Certification Required
  • Possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
Working Conditions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demand for this position follows the criteria established for the Service Technician physical demands analysis. The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential duties of this job successfully. This position requires continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and carrying. May work in small/tight confined spaces. Must be able to lift 50 pounds with or without accommodations. Other abilities this job requires include hearing, close/color/peripheral vision with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Safety-toed boots are required. This employee may be required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, and other personal protective equipment as needed for the job. Must be able to drive a company vehicle from job site to job site.
Work Environment
The workplace in which this employee performs the essential duties is located in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and West Virginia. Work is conducted indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes and all types of weather. Wet and slippery conditions can be present. The work area can also have debris and bugs present. This employee may be exposed to chemical hazards.
