4th Year Apprentice & Red-Seal Automotive Technician / Mechanic

Position Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Automotive Mechanic to join our client’s team based in Surrey, BC. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining service operations by inspecting and repairing vehicles. You’ll report to the Lead Service Technician and work alongside a supportive team that values trust and collaboration. Duties include:
- Enhance job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, such as EV bus training.
- Conduct Preventative Maintenance and Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) on vehicles.
- Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives and thorough inspections.
- Foster a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles to ensure their optimal functioning.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the worksite.
- Carry out production work, including pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of new buses.
- Adhere to inspection and safety policies and procedures.
- Run diagnostic tests on customer vehicles to identify and address any issues.
Company Expectations:
- Hold a valid driver's license (Class 2 preferred, but not mandatory).
- LPG Certificate of Qualification is considered an asset.
- Possess a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) license to inspect vehicle classes 4 and 5, specifically Bus and School Bus (training will be provided if necessary).
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Possess a Level 4th apprentice or Red Seal certification as an Automotive Technician, demonstrating your expertise in the field.
- Exhibit excellent active listening, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Ford IDS and Cummins Insite software is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with automotive air conditioning systems is considered an asset.
