What is the opportunity?


The RBC Dominion Securities branch located in North York is seeking a Senior Associate Advisor to join a large high performing Advisory Team. You will deepen client relationships by offering sound advice and support to clients as well as the Investment Advisor. You will also play a key role in identifying and assisting growth of new business opportunities.


What will you do?


  • Provide investment advice and wealth planning to clients.
  • Co-manage client acquisition pipeline (prospects / leads); work with advisory team to close new opportunities.
  • Deepen existing relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs).
  • Respond to client account inquiries and remain accountable to follow-up, as required
  • Support the trading and / or portfolio rebalancing function.
  • Identify and execute opportunities among existing client base for asset consolidation, referrals to COIs and wealth planning needs.
  • Relationship manage a segment of the Investment Advisor’s book.
  • Support the advisory team and clients through the Wealth Management process. Help gather relevant information, coordinate activities with Wealth Management specialists, track progress and follow up.
  • Provide proactive client service with a problem-resolution focus and attention to details. Liaise with various departments for execution, where necessary.
  • Coordinate meetings and events for yourself and the Investment Advisor with clients and prospects: help determine agenda and key topics, prepare documentation, execute post-meeting work. Attend client meetings when required.
  • Regularly review research on markets and investments, provide regular updates to the advisory team.
  • Help build and execute business plans, client segmentation, and client service plans.


What do you need to succeed?


Must Have


  • A self-directed individual with a growth and goals-oriented mindset
  • University degree
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • The desire to work on a large team
  • At least two years of client relationship/advisory responsibility
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Fluency in Cantonese
  • Currently Registered Representative (RR) licensed with IIROC / CIRO, or successful completion of CSC within last two years.

2024 CFO - Winter Financial Analyst, Wholesale Financial Control Student (8 Months)



What will you do?


  • Provide meaningful analysis of financial results to ensure accurate external reporting, including MD&A, B/S, P&L, Note disclosures, regulatory reporting & supplemental formats.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline current processes.
  • Support Wholesale Finance Control teams in month-end and quarter-end financial reporting processes through journal entry booking and disclosure template submissions.
  • Participate in the monthly review process to ensure financial controls are in place and the appropriate reconciliations are completed.
  • Participate in other ad-hoc projects as directed by reporting manager.


What do you need to succeed?


Must-have
  • Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus in finance, accounting, business, commerce or a related discipline.
  • Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Currently enrolled in a recognized co-op program and eligible to complete a 8 month work term from January 2024 to August 2024 or otherwise available to work during the same period.
  • Able to work effectively and reliably under pressure
  • Excellent MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint


Nice-to-have
  • Experience or understanding of financial analysis and financial reporting
  • Previous experience working at RBC or in a financial environment
