Job Description

Architectural Technologist

MR Engineering & Design Ltd. is a full-service, independent engineering and design firm located in Exeter, ON. We are a team of highly skilled and experienced engineers and designers who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic & detail-oriented Architectural Technologist to assist on a wide variety of projects by producing design & construction drawings. You will be an integral part in ensuring that project design & follow through run smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with clients to ensure the delivery of a concept and design that takes into account client needs, expectations, deadlines and budgetary constraints.
  • Review drawing packages to determine compliance with the Ontario Building Code, by-laws and other applicable law.
  • Conduct site visits as required for documentation of existing site conditions, as well as meetings required during course of construction
  • Other related duties will be assigned as required.
  • Utilize Revit 3D drafting/modelling software to produce detailed design & construction packages


Requirements:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Work experience in the construction industry considered an asset
  • University DegreeorTechnical School Diplomaorequivalent related to ArchitectureorStructural Engineering Technology,orsimilar from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office Word
  • Valid Class “G” driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including contractors, affected public / community members, and client/municipal staff.
  • Team player with attention to detail, with time management skills to be able to prioritize activities and support teams when necessary.
  • Exceptional knowledge of Revit 2023 and the ability to produce working drawings and construction documents
