Cargo Screeners are responsible to ensure that our international volume is screened to minimize the security risk to our air network. This involves screening packages through an X-Ray machine, ETD, and physical search. Screeners work within a team environment and together we ensure regulatory compliance and legislation is maintained with all applicable laws and regulations in accordance with Transport Canada (TC) and UPS standards.

Shift

• Shift: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM (approx.)
• We ask for some flexibility with the start and finish time because depending on the volume, employees will be asked to start earlier or stay longer than the noted shift time above. We are dealing with time sensitive packages that need to make service to our customers – Customers First!
• Monday through Friday (5 days a week)

Responsibilities

• Screen packages through X-Ray machine, ETD, and physical search
• Safeguard that only authorized personnel enter screening area (UPS Challenge Policy)
• Assist with maintaining documentation and record keeping
• Regular compliance training
• Work within a time-sensitive and fast paced warehouse environment

Qualifications/Skills

• Able to lift up to 70lbs and work in a fast-paced environment
• Background check that includes your work, study, activity, and residency history for the last 5 years
• Knowledge of MS Office applications and general comfort using computer-based equipment
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Previous law and security education or experience an asset
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident
