Job Description


Reporting to the Team Leader – Law Clerk the successful candidate’s main purpose will be to support the efficient and effective delivery of legal services to our clients by providing administrative and practice support to the Litigation Team. This position requires interaction with staff and management at all levels of the Organization, and may include interactions with external regulators and other contacts.


What You Will Do


You will work in partnership with Law Clerks and Senior Law Clerks/Paralegals to support the delivery of superior legal service and handle independent tasks when clients’ needs may be met by a member of the legal staff team. You will be responsible for administrative and legal tasks and provide back-up support to other Legal Administrative Coordinators.


You will be expected to build strong working relationships and help drive continuous process improvement and innovation by providing efficient, timely and organized service.


The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, exceptional organization skills, initiative, the ability to work independently, and will collaborate professionally and respectfully with others.


What You Will Bring


  • Strong technical skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Pro, matter management and document
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, including proofreading with keen attention to detail and the ability to draft substantive written communications
  • Post-secondary diploma in a recognized Administrative or Legal Assistant program, or combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years experience working in an administrative or legal support role
  • Ability to independently manage own workload with well-developed organizational and time management skills and handle changing and competing priorities
