Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist works with our Accounts Department to process transactions related to accounts payable and provide general accounting support as required.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform other accounting duties as requested
  • Processing invoices, preparing and dispatching payments - cheques, ACH and EFTs
  • Reconciling suppliers’ statements of accounts with accounts payable ledger
  • Assisting with period end close and audit queries
  • Liaising with and responding to vendors queries regarding payments
  • Managing petty cash
  • Checking expense reports and preparing monthly expense variances analysis
  • Reconciling company credit cards
  • Filing invoices and associated documents electronically and manually
  • Creating new vendor and EFT accounts
  • Processing pre-authorized payments for company expenditure

Qualification and Experience

  • Diploma in Business Accounting or comparable qualification
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a similar position

·Excellent data entry skills with intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Office

·Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

·Experience working with SAGE 300 Accounting software.

·Proficient reading and writing in French
