Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with our Downtown Edmonton-based company to hire an Accounts Payable Clerk. This is a contract for 6-9 months, with a hybrid working model.
Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or inquiries for both internal and external clients on an ongoing basis, including refund and stale dated cheques.
  • Liaison with all departments involved in contractual agreements to ensure completion of all requirements before issuing payments.
  • Review statements and payments (vendor, grants, etc.), to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Ensure supporting backup information is organized and stored by finance policies.
  • Review and process invoices, employee expenses, grants, and contractual payments within the required timelines
  • Daily balancing and reconciliation of Accounts Payable to the vouchers keyed.
  • Maintain payment systems about payee information (including the set-up of payees for EFT payments).
  • Ensure invoices and expense claims are properly coded and have the appropriate approval and backup before issuing payments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or certificate in Accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to address Accounts Payable issues internally and externally.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an accounts payable environment.
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with procurement systems and applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills.
