Job Description
Reporting to the Controller, Finance, and working in collaboration with the finance team, this position would provide support to the Club in a variety of accounting responsibilities and tasks. This role would provide support as well as provide input based on best practices as to how to increase efficiencies and to support the initiatives on Club’s strategic plan.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Prepare remittances for PST and GST
  • Ensure grant of authority policy is adhered too with respect to approval of invoices    
  • Prepares any “quick pay” cheques for signature by the organization’s signing officers
  • Assists in the support of Rider programs and events as assigned
  • Prepare all accounts receivable and payable accounting entries
  • Process salary/hourly payroll.  This includes set-up, distribution of pay stubs, T4 processing and submitting ROE reports
  • Prepares regular payroll reports as needed by the management team
  • Maintain employee personnel/payroll files and other finance records, including archiving when necessary
  • Prepare regular financial reports as needed by the management team 
  • Manage and maintain Capital Assets
  • Be the DocLink subject matter expert for the Finance team  
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Prepare month end bank reconciliation and assist Senior Accountant when needed with other month end processes
  • Prepare all cheques for signature by the organization’s signing officers
  • Gather invoices and distribute to management for approval
  • Verify coding of invoices and prepare them for entry into DocLink
  • Process payment and reconciles statements for AMEX and MasterCard
  • Completion of source deductions for CPP, EI, and income tax
  • Process cash-outs from the Ticket Office
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Enrollment in or completion of a Business Administration post-secondary program, preferably with an Accounting major
  • Exposure to automated payroll systems would be an asset
  • Proven analytical, communication and organizational skills to multi task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Team oriented style with a “can do” service focus to achieve organizational results
  • Proficiency with financial management software including spreadsheets, databases and integrated financial systems
  • Availability to work irregular hours and work schedules, including game days
  • Previous full cycle accounting experience an asset
  • Practical experience working in a customer service focused business environment to empathize with customer concerns and complaints
  • Demonstrated interest in teamwork through high quality interpersonal skills in dealing with co-workers and the public
