Engineering – Airframe Designer
Montreal, Quebec, Canada - Onsite/Hybrid
What you’ll do:
In this role, the Engineering – Airframe Designer will:
  • Provide investigations for change authorities such as RFCs and PCRs.
  • Interface with harness manufacturer, aircraft interiors, methods, stress, systems, interiors, and support functions such as mass properties, etc.
  • Generate conceptual designs for airframe and system installation design.
  • Launch engineering workflow release mechanism.
  • Respond to customers’ technical and troubleshooting queries, which involve resolving a wide range of long-term maintenance in-service issues.
  • Coordinate with on-site and offshore team tasks design activities.
  • Review systems layouts, installations, assembly, and detail drawings.
  • Support design and program reviews with partner/suppliers.
  • Provide detail design for details, assemblies, kits, installations, NIEOs, and GREOs.
  • Provide repair disposition to airline by CRM.
  • Generate and execute cost and weight saving design change ideas.
  • Provide technical design solutions for production and in-service issues while considering operator cost, operator rework time and minimizing engineering lead time.
  • Manage design changes through all the cycles of the change management process.
  • Provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
  • Support directly other engineering and operations departments.
What you’ll have:
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience within the aviation industry preferred with experience in Airframe Design.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with System Installation Design.
  • Experience with Model Based Definition and 2D/3D Design.
  • CAD design experience is preferred with Catia V5.
  • Strong capability in MS Office Products preferred with the ability to learn new tool sets (e.g. Google workspace/G-suite).
Nice to have:
  • Coordinate with on-site and offshore team tasks design activities.
  • Provide technical design solutions for production and in-service issues while considering operator cost, operator rework time and minimizing engineering lead time.
