Energy Engineering Intern Jobs

Post-secondary education in a related field: engineering alternative energy technology, sustainable development, energy management.

Demonstrated success in project management and business development of Renewable Energy projects including Energy Audits, Decarbonisation Studies and/or Recommissioning

Manage and apply for applicable government funding, grants and financing.

Proven experience in the review of internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice and constructability.

Maintaining complete project documentation with respect to design and construction, including all completion packages, as-built requirements and return data information.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Completed a master’s degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, agriculture, political science, public policy, etc;

A keen interest in matters related to climate change, renewables and clean energy, and the environment;

A basic understanding of carbon markets, concepts such as carbon intensity and lifecycle analysis, and various government regulations about emissions reduction;

An ability to concisely summarize the happenings of Parliament/Parliamentary committees;

Exposure to a corporate, government, industry association, think-tank, or consulting setting would be an asset;

Bilingualism would be an asset.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work alongside with a team of Hardware, Software and Systems engineers and provide support on various projects;

Attend cross-functional meetings to solve technical issues, tasks and set implementations;

Hands-on lab work to support various electronics product development phases (design, development, testing, prototyping);

Create or update new/existing schematics and documentation;

Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent;

You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to build successful working relationships across the team

Assist in obtaining stakeholder agreement about changes to and management of the system requirements

Assist in risk management and risk mitigation strategies

Experience in the Systems Engineering Life Cycle, including typical tools for requirements development (for example DOORS and modeling tools)

Analyze, define and trace system requirements and recommend performance measures

High level oral and written communication skills required for report writing and design justification documentation

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Experience identifying process improvement, areas for optimization and cost reduction

Experience performing industrial time studies (considered an asset)

YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

Working on process improvement initiatives to improve productivity.

Performing Industrial Time Studies and interact with shop floor workers.

Energy Management Information System (EMIS) software integration.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and strive to exceed client expectations.

A desire to gain deep technical knowledge relating to industrial energy, resource conservation and process optimization.

Excellent PC skills, especially MS Excel, with software development beneficial.

Program operator interfaces with FactoryTalk View Studio. 

Assist the research and development engineering team with current and future systems documentation. 
