Assistant Finishing Superintendent Jobs

3+ years' experience in a high production homebuilding or construction environment

Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other health and safety regulations

Strong oral and written communication skills

Superior interpersonal skills: able to build and maintain positive relationships with a broad network of contacts, including trade partners and suppliers

Assists the Superintendent in managing construction of assigned homes, assuming shared responsibility for each home meeting ALL standards.

Enforces safety standards and laws on-site to ensure all work is being done safely

Technical certification with 5 – 8 years’ experience or equivalent.

Some experience with scheduling, estimating and project controls software.

Supervisory experience with ability to coach and mentor developing team members.

Monitor supply levels and order through the Finishing Manager as needed

Operate Gluers according to work instructions and customer specifications

Assist Adjusters and other Operators in make ready and operation of equipment

Perform troubleshooting and minor maintenance on Finishing equipment regularly

Responsible for knowing Finishing lockout procedures

Complete quality checks to ensure only conforming product is being produced

·Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent

·Must demonstrate excellent organizational and record record-keeping skills

·Experience with Jonas Premier is an asset

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing the company's health and safety policies and procedures on site

Prepare look-ahead schedules for interior construction and provide regular schedule status updates to the project team

Prepare the deficiency report of each unit and update the management weekly.

Provide direction to labourers and skilled trades’ people, inspect their work, and ensure they are completing tasks to a high-quality standard.

Identify and escalate potential issues to the Construction Manager in a timely manner

Monitor the performance of trades to ensure deficiencies are completed in a timely manner before proceeding.

Report to Superintendent on a daily basis to ensure schedule and quality are being met.

Attend daily morning meetings and provide input for trades.

Working knowledge of property maintenance, drainage control methods, and irrigation system software (Rain Bird experience is considered an asset)

Experience in pesticide application and relevant certifications an asset

Experience in all aspects of golf course maintenance and construction

Working knowledge of irrigation and equipment maintenance

Work well as part of a time with excellent communications skills
