Social Work Diploma or equivalent (Human Services Diploma/ Certificate) other education and experience will be considered.

Blackfoot language and culture knowledge is preferred.

At least 2 years of experience working in the Human Services field.

Strong networking and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of resources in the Parenting programs is considered an asset

Service Delivery Skills, Expertise, And Experience

These hours are dependent on the operational requirements of the organization

ECE II/III certification with specialization in inclusion support, children with special needs or equivalent

Education/training in human ecology, child development, applied counseling, or a Family Support Worker Certificate

Minimum of 2 years’ experience working successfully with young people/children, including those with additional support needs

Experience working with families in marginalized communities and community agencies

Interpersonal skills in dealing with problems or issues related to timekeeping.

Ability to type 60 words per minute.

Ability to operate within Windows environment including advanced word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software.

Ability to prepare, maintain and control a variety of documents, records, files and related data.

Ability to make calculations, changes and updates, often under pressure, with speed and accuracy.

Ability to operate related office equipment, e.g. Dictaphone, photocopier, facsimile.

Superior time management, organization, and prioritization skills in addressing multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-paced environment required.

Minimum 5 years’ previous experience working in a health care setting preferred.

Demonstrated Psychosocial Oncology knowledge preferred.

Proven excellent assessment, counselling and problem solving skills essential.

Superior communication, negotiation, mediation and collaborative interprofessional team skills required.

Well-established knowledge of relevant health care system processes and community resources required.

Supporting children, young people and their families are actively involved in the development and delivery of services which affect them.

To support young people to be able to engage in service development and staff interviews.

To work with partner organisations to develop and maintain a range of ways in which young people can engage.

Engagement and Participation support worker.

Excellent interpersonal communication, counseling, and conflict management skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare accurate and comprehensive written reports.

Excellent organizational, time and general management skills.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, enjoys the company of young people and can implement effective behavior management strategies.

Work or volunteer experience in a residential care facility or foster home model program.

Develops collaborative relationships with youths' families/caregivers, significant others and informal support systems to maintain and strengthen these connections.

Establishes strong connections to the community, including maintaining close working relationships with all formal and informal service providers.
