Wiring Engineer Jobs

Resolves technical issues to determine the appropriate interpretation of technical requirements within the assigned area of responsibility.

Prepares certification reports, Certificate of Compliance, and other related CSA documentation.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 0-2 years job related experience

Certified Engineering Technologist/ technician, Licensed Trades with 3-5 years industry experience

Knowledge of Laboratory instrumentation, including operating principles and calibration procedures, as well as general Laboratory procedures

Additional expertise and experience may be required depending on the needs of the business unit

Experience and knowledge in electrical principals and theory

Continuous training and skills improvement including free training and tuition reimbursement programs

Previous work experience in a panel shop and familiarity with AltaLink fabrication is highly preferred

3-5 years of experience as a Wiring Technician (typical)

Experience in fabrication of a variety of modules, junction boxes, cabinets and control panels

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral vision and depth perception

Responsible for soldering, assembly of electronic components and circuit boards

Be able to read, understand and work off of the engineering prints

Able to connect and hook up electronic components while adhering to the panel shop’s protocol and procedures

Ability to read and use drawings, routings, specifications, part numbers, and other shop documents

Electrical part installation such as: relays, meters, switches, etc.

Wiring: Anchoring, tie-wrapping, routing, push buttons, flagging, & wire tagging.

Support the definition and management requirements for EWIS

Take active part in the space requirements definition of the wire harness

Support the creation of certification related documents for EWIS

At least 5 years’ experience in wiring and harness design

Familiar with and understand pertinent TCCA, FAA, and EASA rules and requirements

At least 5 years or 5,000 hours of CATIA V4 drafting experience is a strong attribute
